Concerned Floridians have already sent thousands of emails telling Governor DeSantis to veto SB 620, what some are calling the "Puppy Mill Loophole" law.
More than 400 cities, towns, and counties across 31 states have joined the movement to stop the puppy-mill-to-pet-store pipeline. Unfortunately, the puppy mill lobbyists are fighting back.
The Florida Legislature passed a cruel new bill in March that would give the owners of puppy mills much more power to operate anywhere in Florida. The bill, SB 620, now just needs Gov. Ron DeSantis to sign it for it to become law. He has the power to stop this law with a simple veto. READ MORE:

SB 620/HB 569 could force cities to compensate businesses for losses that owners claim are the result of a local ordinance, fortifying puppy-selling pet stores throughout Florida—including those which have been exposed for acquiring puppies from dismal puppy mills in the Midwest.
More than 80 localities in Florida have passed ordinances preventing pet stores from selling puppies sourced from puppy mills. This measure would make it virtually impossible for additional localities to make the same decision, as it could force localities that pass such ordinances to reimburse a pet store for what it could have made selling puppy mill puppies.
