Staging an Interactive Opera
In this post, I walk through the user experience design process of creating an interactive opera game for the Marilyn Horne Opera Center: from wireframing to drawing cartoon opera singers in Adobe Illustrator, to animating them in Adobe Character Animator, and the final product being enjoyed in the museum.

Unbroken Circle Immersion Theater
The Unbroken Circle Theater is the closing theater in the permanent exhibit at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. The theater showcases how country music's influence has spread from one corner of Southwest Virginia to be a cultural force throughout the world. I edited this piece and created a suite of motion graphics that riffed off the idea of curving lines connecting different branches of a common musical tree.

Interactive Design for the Birthplace of Country Music Museum
For the Birthplace of Country Music® Museum, I designed user experiences and interfaces for two interactive experiences. The first, "The Wayback Machine," I modeled after old-time roadside attractions: "raree shows" which were hand-cranked miniature shows with their own prosceniums, puppets, and stories. The second, an E-Postcard interactive touchscreen, lets visitors choose a custom-designed postcard and send to a friend.

I'm Paying For This Microphone
This documentary, I'm Paying For This Microphone, which I produced and edited as my thesis film while completing my M.F.A. in film and electronic communication, examines America's presidential debates: perhaps the most watched, but least understood, television ritual we have in this country.

A Timelapse Tone Poem
This piece features over six months of timelapse photography of the Fred Fisher and Partners-designed Sunnylands Center & Gardens under construction, as well as the planning and evolution of the desert gardens designed by the landscape architects at the Office of James Burnett.

The Boy at the Airport
Directed by Silvio Carillo, I edited this 21-minute Spanish-language documentary about a boy who went to the airport in Tegucigalpa to protest, and didn't return home alive: The Boy at the Airport.

Motion Graphics at American University
While I was a graduate student at American University, I worked for AU's office of communication and marketing. These motion graphics pieces were produced during my time there.

Nature Photography
In addition to editing and motion graphics, I love nature and photography. This is a selection of photographs taken in some of the most beautiful arboretums and botanical gardens I've visited.

Stop Motion Cut-Paper Advocacy
Riffing off the kid's game Hungry, Hungry Hippos I conceptualized a stop-motion cut-paper animation that would highlight the issue of overdraft fees in a lighthearted way.
