110 members to be elected to the Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee in August
If you are reading this, there is still time to qualify to be on the ballot this summer to represent your district within the local Democratic Party!
This August, Miami-Dade county registered Democrats will elect the 110 people to make up the Democratic Executive Committee (DEC). The elections correspond to 55 district designations with a man and woman elected per district.

Miami-Dade County, FL: Reports emerged Monday that Attorney General William Barr would be sending Federal riot teams to Washington DC and Miami. Instead of condemning the racist violence that started the nationwide protests, Donald Trump has encouraged division, instigated violence, and threatened protesters with shooting. Today, he urged governors to “dominate” protesters and give anyone arrested at these protests a 10-year jail sentence.

Miami-Dade County, FL: One week ago, County Commissioner Esteban “Steve” Bovo and Commissioner Sosa called earned sick leave “communism.” Just after that, it was revealed that Steve Bovo received donations from an agent of Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro. Yesterday, it came out that his chief fundraiser had a direct connection to the murderous Maduro regime. Steve Bovo sought to placate constituents by firing the fundraiser, but the damage is done.

Miami-Dade Democratic Party Announces New Executive Director
Christopher Richmond served Party as Digital & Development Director
Miami, FL: The Miami-Dade Democratic Party announced that Christopher Richmond would assume the role of Executive Director today. Richmond has served as the Digital and Development Director for the Party since the end of January. Before that, he served as the Communications Chair for the Miami Beach Democratic Club and has been a field organizer and canvasser for multiple presidential campaigns.
Vote-By-Mail Enrollment Ads
From April through October, we ran digital ads in different congressional districts throughout Miami-Dade County, urging Democratic voters to sign up for Vote-By-Mail. These were some of the ads we ran.

Our online fundraising efforts in 2020 led to record-breaking results for a local Democratic Party Committee in Florida.

MIAMI FL: The Miami-Dade Democratic Party announced today that it had grown the voter rolls to 616,553 registered Democrats in Miami-Dade County, an increase of nearly 14,000 voters since the 2018 election. Compared to the number of registered Democrats in Miami-Dade County for the 2016 election, we have grown our numbers by more than 22,000 voters.

Recent Court Ruling Against Project Bolsters Case that Commission Should Rescind Authorizing Legislation
MIAMI, FL: The Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee passed a resolution at its Monday meeting urging the Miami-Dade County Commission and the Mayor to “revisit and rescind their decision” to approve an amendment to the Comprehensive Development Master Plan allowing for the extension of the the SR 836 Expressway 13 miles outside the Urban Development Boundary. The resolution also called on the Commission and Mayor to rescind the federal application for permitting the toll road extension, and to cease allocating county staff and financial resources in pursuit of the project.

The Blue Forum & Fair was scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 15 at the Firefighters Memorial Building, in Doral, Florida, and had been expected to draw hundreds of Democrats from across Miami-Dade County.

Miami, FL: The Miami-Dade Democratic Party has hired community organizer and student power network program manager Ariel Sepulveda, as its new Field Director.
An organizing director for several Florida campaigns, Sepulveda grew up in Homestead, Florida before receiving a bachelor of liberal arts degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Returning to South Florida, she worked as the Organizing Director for Engage Miami where she coordinated voter registration and get out the vote efforts at college campuses and universities throughout Miami for several national, state and local elections.
